SNAS/DHL, in partnership with the Lebanese Consulate in Jeddah and the Saudi Red Crescent recently joined efforts to deliver humanitarian relief aid to Lebanon.

Ghassan Moallem, Consul General of Lebanon in Jeddah, said: “We have established a campaign for the aid of Lebanon which included the collection of humanitarian aid material and general medical supplies, first aid as well as medicine for chronic diseases such as heart and diabetes. We coordinated with the Saudi Red Crescent.” Moallem continued, “SNAS/DHL supported humanitarian aid efforts and played a major role in helping the Lebanese people in this time of crisis.”

“As part of the regional network and community responsibility, SNAS/DHL provided the necessary aid to help ease the suffering of Lebanese war victims. We continued to employ our logistics expertise hoping it facilitated relief efforts for an expeditious recovery,” said Hicham Mahmoud, SNAS/DHL’s Communications Manager.

In addition, DHL Middle East played an important humanitarian role raising funds to support displaced people by supporting a group of 1,100 refugees from South Lebanon. DHL Lebanon, DHL Middle East, its parent company Deutsche Post World Network and employees, all contributed and raised funds to provide assistance to this group, many of whom were children. They managed to raise US$100,000 with help from clients, suppliers and other organisations close to the business.

“SNAS/DHL was actively involved in the relief efforts and worked in partnership with both international and local aid agencies which facilitated the relief supplies,” concluded Mahmoud.
