The Society for Care of Neurological Patients Holds a Thank You Dinner for LG Ultramarathon Partners
The Dead Sea Ultra Marathon’s organizing committee, the Society for Care of Neurological Patients (SCNP), alongside its title sponsor LG Electronics (LG), held a joint dinner celebration on the evening of April 18, 2009. Hosted at the Dead Sea Mövenpick hotel, the dinner celebrated the success of the 16th LG Dead Sea Ultra Marathon (LG DSUM).
The dinner was attended by a number of the LG DSUM organizers and sponsors, namely, the Vice President of the SCNP, Mr. Ghazi Farouq, Mr. Son on behalf of LG Electronics, the Marketing Manager of LG Electronics in Jordan, Zaid Nabulsi, and the Deputy General Manager of Darwish Al Khalili, Tareq Houdali, in addition to supporting partners, media representatives, and the management of SCNP, LG, and the Middle East Complex (MEC).
Commenting on the event, the Managing Director of LG Electronics Levant, Mr. Kevin Cha, reiterated LG’s pride for having supported the Dead Sea Ultra Marathon, a cause it has adopted since its inception in 1992. Thanking all parties that contributed to the event’s success, he said, “LG is proud of supporting one of the most exciting annual events in Jordan, and one of the world’s most interesting experiences. For that, I would like to commend the efforts of the Society and also other supporting partners for making the 16th LG Ultramarathon a reality and a success.”
At the dinner competition winners were announced and awards were given to media representatives, namely, Yahya Qteishat from Alghad newspaper for best article, Mohammed Jaloudi from Addustour for best coverage, Khaldoun Zahran from Sharqiyat magazine for best photo, Amin FM and Radio Amman for best radio station coverage, Jordan TV for best TV station coverage, and Yousef Hamdani from Nebras news for best online coverage. Certificates were given to all journalists, in addition to the Public Security and Traffic Directorate, and plaques were awarded to the Mövenpick Hotel and TRACCS agency.
It is worth noting that the LG DSUM, the main fund-raising event for the SCNP, raises awareness towards the Society's existence, provides neurological patients with medical aid, and helps cover the costs of necessary surgeries. It also aims to increase awareness towards the benefits of running, by gathering people of different age groups, from all around the globe, to join in this unique event to run to the lowest point on earth.
