Stabbing in Jerusalem injures three Israeli settlers

ALBAWABA-In a recent incident near Jerusalem's Lion's Gate, three Israeli settlers were wounded, one seriously, during a stabbing attack. 

The assailant, a 17-year-old youth from East Jerusalem, used a machete in the assault. Israeli police promptly chased and arrested the suspect. One victim, a 50-year-old man, was transported to Hadassah Hospital in serious condition, while another sustained minor injuries.

Doron Turgeman, head of the Jerusalem District Police, arrived at the scene to assess the situation, and the investigation was handed over to the central unit. 

The Israeli occupation police deployed significant forces to the area, coinciding with the arrival of the police inspector-general.

Following the attack, authorities closed the vicinity and stationed many soldiers at the scene and entrances to the Old City of Jerusalem. Several young Palestinians were detained for identity checks in the process.

Furthermore, Israeli occupation forces subsequently arrested the mother and sister of the 17-year-old assailant, Basil Ayyad Lafi, from their residence in the Amison neighborhood in Jabal al-Mukaber, located south of occupied Jerusalem. During searches at the attacker's home, Israeli soldiers interrogated family members and caused damage to household items.
