Strategic partners of the Sharjah Economic Development Department were honored during a celebration, which was attended by H.E. Ali bin Salem Al Mahmoud, SEDD General Manager, Dr. Abdullah bin Salih Al Suwaiji, Director of Kalba’ Municipal Council, and a number of representatives and managers from local and union establishments in the city of Kalba, at the Kalba Ladies Club. .
In his speech, Al Mahmoud said: “Firstly, I would like to thank you for joining us at the strategic partners’ award ceremony; your participation today deeply strengthens our relationships with both the local and union establishments in Kalba, which in turn provides the Kalba economic sectors with potential opportunities, as per the vision of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah for the development of economic, architectural and urban projects in the country, and the support of H.E. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Head of the Sharjah Executive Council.”
Al Mahmoud stressed that the Ruler of Sharjah’s directives will inspire SEDD to work hard in the coming period, and that the Department will base its work on practical interactions with related governmental establishments under close guidance from Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Head of the Sharjah Executive Council.
Furthermore, Al Mahmoud expressed his gratitude to H.H. the Ruler of Sharjah for his wise leadership and guidance, and to H.E. Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Head of Sharjah Executive Council, for his efforts and support of SEDD and its various branches.
SEDD’s Kalba branch commenced its activities in the hope of fulfilling the Department’s aims of building strong relationships with a wide range of clients in the city while ensuring that high quality services and economic growth requirements are met.
“I would like to thank SEDD employees for their hard work and the responsibilities they carry,” added Al Mahmoud., “In addition, the participation of government establishments in this celebration not only strengthens our relationships, but also ensures that quality services are offered by SEDD, in line with the economic growth of Sharjah. We hope that we stay true to our responsibilities and the wise vision of H.H. the Ruler of Sharjah. Finally, I would like to thank our dear guests for their kind attendance.”
During the ceremony, SEDD’s General Manager, officials and employees shared suggestions and ideas on various professional topics, as well as on SEDD’s contribution to the economic scene in Sharjah.
Former Chairperson of the Kalba Municipal Council, H.E. Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al Sahi, was also honored during the celebrations, along with several government departments - including Sharjah Municipality, the Municipal Council of Sharjah, the Committee of Sudden Inspection, Kalba Ladies Club, Al Fujaira Ministry of Labor - Department of Inspection, Kalba Ministry of Social Affairs, the Department of Social Services, Emirates Transport, and the Al Sharqiya Police Department - for their contribution to the growth process, the overcoming of obstacles and their continuous efforts to formulate new standards in line with their goals. Participants in the educational “Commercial Companies and their Classification” seminar, which was held earlier this year, were also awarded during the ceremony.
SEDD’s Kalba branch has already undertaken numerous activities, such as the issuing and renewing of industrial, professional and commercial licenses. A total of 879 commercial licenses, including 71 new licenses and 808 renewed ones; 1196 professional licenses, including 119 new and 1077 renewed ones; as well as 17 renewed industrial licenses were issued, bringing the total for 2009 to 2092, broken down into 190 new and 1902 renewed licenses.
