Sudan would soon seek the seat of Africa at the United Nations Security Council, reported Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), quoting a senior foreign ministry official.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ali al-Nimairi told KUNA that his government would seek Africa's support for the Sudanese bid at the Security Council during the Organization of African Union (OAU) summit on July 10th.

"Sudan is qualified to occupy Africa's seat at the Security Council during the 2000-01 session given the fact that it is the largest country in the continent," the official said - Albawaba.com
