Syrian Foreign Minister Faruq Shara called Monday for an Arab summit to put an end to the "wretched situation" of the Arab world and the "disunity" of Arabs.
Shara told journalists he had discussed the matter with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Foreign Minister Amr Moussa, as well as King Fahd of Saudi Arabia, Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdel Aziz and Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal, whom he saw Sunday.
"This wretched situation and disunity cannot be allowed to persist," Shara said.
"We must come together, join ranks and strengthen Arab solidarity in the interests of us all." – ALEXANDRIA (AFP)
