Syria's First Lady, Asmaa al-Assad arrived in Beirut on Sunday to take part in "International Women's Day" celebrations and a conference on "The Arab woman and armed conflicts", which begins Monday.
Mrs. Al-Assad will also participate in a meeting of the Higher Council of the Arab Women Organization, according to the official SANA news agency.
Asmaa Al-Assad was welcomed by wife of the Lebanese President, Andree Lahoud, wife of the Lebanese Parliament Speaker, wife of the Lebanese Defense Minister and by a number of members of the National Organization for Lebanese women affairs.
The Lebanese First Lady, who chairs a national committee on women's issues, is hosting the two-day conference. (Albawaba.com)
