Gunmen shot and killed a Libyan and a Syrian in a mafia-style attack in Bulgaria's capital of Sofia, according to police Wednesday.
One or two "professional assassins" fired at least 10 times at Feisal Zakar, aged 54, who was born in Tripoli, Libya, and Matar al Ruleh, aged 48, a Syrian citizen, in Sofia's Lozenets neighborhood late Tuesday, a police statement said, according to SPA.
Even though the victims had no clear criminal record, they possessed "large amounts of money of unclear origin," it said.
Police officials have attributed street shootings and bombings claiming several dead and wounded over the past couple of months to underworld turf wars. (Albawaba.com)
