Syrian regime airstrikes killed 18 and injured over 100 near Damascus on Sunday, a monitor told AFP.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the government conducted four airstrikes in the town of Douma, northeast of Damascus. The violence comes on the anniversary of the Syrian revolution, marking the fifth year of the conflict.
Douma is in opposition territory, having been subject to several airstrikes by President Bashar al-Assad. Rebels also fire from the area into the capital, according to AFP.
The Observatory said the death toll in Syria has risen to over 215,000 since the conflict began.
