TAG-Org launches technology-focused suite of professional services and products to mark GITEX participation
GITEX debut generates overwhelming positive response from trade visitors looking for top-quality, innovative business solutions
Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org), the region's leading provider of diversified professional services with 71 offices in 35 countries, has announced that it has launched a wide range of new, technology-focused professional services and products to mark its presence at GITEX Technology Week 2008, the region’s largest information and communication technology exhibition being held at the Dubai International Convention Centre from October 19 to 23, 2008.
TAG-Org, through its member firms that operate in a spectrum of industries, has also lined up several high-profile presentations, interactive demos and networking activities, leveraging the impressive business potential of GITEX 2008, which is poised to gather a total of over 130,000 trade visitors and some 3,300 companies from 83 countries.
Dr. Raed Awdeh, TAG-Org ICT Executive Director and GITEX project leader said: “This is TAG-Org’s first participation in GITEX and we have already received a strong positive response from the public and other companies. TAG-Org's innovative enterprise solutions that have been launched at GITEX include TAG-PEDIA, which is the first Arabic electronic encyclopedia; TAG Accountant, the world's first bilingual encyclopedia of accounting entries; TAG ICT Dictionary, an English-Arabic dictionary of about 6,500 Information and Communication Technology (ICT) terms; TAG-Domains, an Internet domain registration service that includes Country Code Top-Level Domains (ccTLDs), Generic Top-Level Domains (gTLDs), and Arabic Domain Names. The Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Cambridge IT Skills Center will also be represented at GITEX 2008.
TAG-ITI, TAG-Org’s ICT consultancy arm, is also presenting its full range of services at GITEX. TAG-ITI's product and service showcase includes ERP consultancy, ICT and security auditing, ICT vendor selection, Business technology solutions, and web-solution services. The consultancy provider has achieved strong growth over the past year after being successfully awarded several projects across the Middle East and has drafted several cooperative IT agreements with prominent Asian, European and American companies such as Oracle, SAGE, and Dibon.

In addition, the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh ICT Academy (TAG-ICT Academy) will conduct a presentation of its hands-on-experience practices and specialised training services in ICT technologies. TAG-ICT Academy recently held meetings with the Dubai Government to discuss the creation of training and capacity development programs. It has also been approached by Bahrain’s New Horizon for a possible training program and Qatar’s QTel for domain name registration service.
Upon the invitation of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, TAG-Org Chairman and CEO, TAG-Org is also hosting a special section for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
“There is a huge cooperation between UNESCO and TAG-Org in various fields especially the intelligent property protection sector. The new collaboration at GITEX is another positive step forward towards consolidating our partnership,” said UNESCO Communication and Information Specialist Ibrahim Al Zobaidi.
