Tanmia participates in ‘Tawdheef 2007’

The National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority (Tanmia) has announced its participation in Tawdheef 2007, Abu Dhabi’s first-ever Recruitment Show, being held from May 15 – 17, at the new National Exhibition Centre.

The three day event features seminars, exhibits and networking opportunities for UAE Nationals to interact directly with employers, recruiters and managers from several of the region’s leading companies. Tawdheef 2007 has gathered organisations from various sectors, including the government, financial services, training, education, recruitment agencies, hospitality and tourism, oil and gas, commerce and trade groups, transport, aviation and others.

“Tanmia is pleased to extend its support to Tawdheef 2007, which is set to be among the top recruitment events in the UAE. Tanmia is committed in its efforts to provide the best employment opportunities for UAE Nationals and to significantly enhance their contribution to the country’s economic progress, by making them an integral part of the workforce. Events such as these present a perfect platform for potential employers to interactive with job applicants and to hire the right candidate for the available jobs,” said Feddah Lootah, Acting General Director, Tanmia.

During Tawdheef 2007, Tanmia representatives will provide valuable information to participating companies and visitors about Tanmia’s services. They will also focus on educating jobseekers visiting Tanmia’s stand about making use of the Authority’s comprehensive web portal that helps Nationals access the job market.

Organised by Al Hader Exhibitions & Conferences, Tawdheef 2007 has attracted sponsorship from several industry giants, including the National Bank of Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Emiratisation Council, Etisalat, the Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, ADNOC, Mubadala, and Etihad Airways.

About Tanmia:
Tanmia, the National Human Resource Development & Employment Authority in the UAE, was established by a Presidential decree in November 1999, to address the imbalance in the labour market, due to excessive dependence on expatriate workforce. Tanmia is engaged in a coordinating role, between national job seekers and employers in the private and government sectors, to facilitate increased entry of nationals in the labour market. The responsibilities that rest with the Authority are: to set up the overall policy of the Authority and supervise its implementation, conduct sustained operational and administrative labour market studies and analysis, provide career counselling and guidance to the national work force, follow-up and evaluate employment of nationals in public and private sectors, support small investment enterprises through the establishment of self-employment projects for national human resources and develop programmes for training and qualifying nationals seeking employment, in conformity with the labour market needs.
