Tantawy calls kidnappers to release the ambassador

According to BNA, Grand Mufti of Al Azhar Dr. Mohammed Sayed Tantawy called the kidnappers of the Egyptian diplomatic mission in Iraq ambassador Ihab Al Sherif to release him as soon as possible and respect the Islamic principles and not to execute the Egyptian diplomat.
In a TV interview , Tantawy affirmed that Ihab Al Serif was in Iraq to serve its people , hopping a speedy release to Al Serif. Tantawi pleaded in the name of Islam, humanitarian honor, and in the name of mercy and all virtues, to a speedy release of the Egyptian Ambassador ,and also called the Iraqi Government to make their best effort to return him back home.
