With 90 per cent of last year’s Taste of Dubai visitors saying that they would recommend the festival to their friends, visitors for this year’s show are being advised to buy their tickets early to avoid disappointment.  Tickets for the award winning food and beverage festival taking place from 11th – 14th March 2009 go on sale from today (Sunday 11th January 2009).
This year’s festival sees 22 of the city’s top restaurants and chefs eager to offer visitors a chance to taste over 65 of their finest signature dishes.  Celebrity chefs such as Gary Rhodes and James Martin will demonstrate their expertise in the Chefs Theatre - alongside Dubai’s finest chefs. The new Cookery School offers visitors the chance to learn a new dish, or technique, straight from the professionals and the Marketplace will have twice as many gourmet food retailers and equipment suppliers offering tasters and demonstrations of their wares.  Overall this year’s festival is bigger in every way than 2008.
Tickets can be purchased online from www.tasteofdubai09.com, www.timeoutdubai.com, and boxofficeme.com. Later in the month tickets can be purchased in-store at Spinneys Audio Visual outlets, Virgin, Hallmark and Cellucom.
There are three types of ticket available: standard entry at 50dhs; premium entry at 150dhs which includes 100dhs of Taste currency which can be spent on purchasing the sample sized portions from the restaurants and beverages; or the VIP entry ticket at 300dhs which includes 150dhs of Taste currency to spend plus access to the VIP lounge, a welcome drink, exclusive tastings, the chance to meet some of the chefs and fast track entry.
Victoria Crick, Event Director explained: “This year we have improved the visitor experience of Taste of Dubai even further.  In addition to the delicious sample sized portions of the signature dishes which people can buy using their special Taste currency, there are many new features in the show that can be enjoyed free of charge. The Chef’s Theatre, the new Cookery School, the Beverage Theatre, the live entertainment, the Marketplace and a new children’s area all combine to make our ticket prices fantastic value for money. Given the success of 2008 we’re looking forward to welcoming many more visitors this year, so I’d recommend that people book their tickets as soon as possible.”
