Three Microsoft partners from the Gulf region have been recognized as among the best in the world at the annual Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2006 in Boston. Computer World of Bahrain and Vertscape InfoTech and ITQAN of the UAE succeeded against global competition to win awards for innovation, specialization and sales & marketing.

The Microsoft Worldwide Partner awards are presented to members of Microsoft’s global partner network who have demonstrated excellence in emerging technologies, customer service and expertise in solution development.

“Microsoft strives to help our partners build successful Microsoft technology-based businesses through the Microsoft Partner Program, which offers a wide variety of resources including training, technical support, products and peer-networking opportunities. These awards recognize those partners who have built their expertise and abilities hand in hand with Microsoft, and we are very pleased to see three partners from the Gulf among them,” said Taj El-Khayat, Partner Development and Marketing Manager for Microsoft Gulf.

Vertscape InfoTech, previously a winner in 2004, won awards in two categories, Custom Development Solutions and Winning Customers, and was also a finalist in a third category, Information Worker Solutions. Vertscape also took a highly prestigious ‘CRN Best in Show’ for Technology Innovation. The CRN Best in Show awards are presented independently of Microsoft by Computer Reseller News magazine to highlight innovative solutions developed by channel partners that serve as a source of inspiration for the entire channel.

Computer World won in the Advanced Infrastructure Solutions category, for its work in desktop management solutions. ITQAN was awarded a Winning Customer award for projects carried out in the field of enterprise search solutions and e-services.

All the winning Gulf partners are Gold Certified Partners, the highest level of certification for Microsoft partners.

“Microsoft Gulf is extremely pleased that Computer World, Vertscape InfoTech and ITQAN have all won these prestigious global awards,” said Charbel Fakhoury, General Manager, Microsoft Gulf. “This demonstrates both their abilities and the exceptionally high standards of the partners in this region. Partners in the Middle East are using Microsoft technologies to create solutions that are leading the world, and we are very proud to be working with partners of such high quality.”
