TMT Finance Middle East Announces Close Of Awards Nominations

Online nominations for the 2nd TMT Finance Middle East 2010 Awards, which recognise exceptional leadership, innovation, merger and acquisition activity and financing, will close on 21st March at

“We have had some outstanding nominations again this year, especially in the Emerging Market Growth Story, Technology Provider and Deal of the Year categories, “ said Dominic Lowndes, Editor of Telecom Deal Alert , who is leading the judging panel. “Middle East telecom operators and their advisers continue to lead growth in challenging markets internationally and regionally so there are some really inspiring candidates.”

The Awards, which celebrate achievements by telecom and technology companies and their investment banking and legal advisers, will be presented at an official ceremony and Gala Dinner at the Sharq Resort, in Doha, Qatar on the evening of 26th April.

The categories of the 2010 awards are:
- Telecom Deal of the Year
- Mobile Operator of the Year
- Telecom M&A Adviser of the Year
- Telecom Law Firm of the Year;
- Telecom Debt Bank of the Year
- Fixed Line Operator of the Year
- Technology Provider of the Year
- Software Solution of the Year
- Outstanding TMT Leader of the Year (CEO)
- Outstanding Innovation in Telecoms Award
- Emerging Markets Growth Story of the Year.
 The Awards ceremony is part of the two day TMT Finance and Investment Middle East 2010 conference ( ), the largest gathering of senior executives in telecoms, technology, investment bankers, investors, lawyers and advisers in the region in 2010.
The conference, created by BroadGroup TMT Ventures, traditionally sets the agenda for the year ahead for telecom and technology companies active in emerging and mature markets across the region.
Attendees this year include Alcatel Lucent, Bintel, Calyon, Citi, Etisalat, Credit Suisse, DBS Group, Deloitte, Telecom Egypt, Goldman Sachs, Huawei Technologies, ictQatar, Injazat, JPMorgan, Macquarie, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Qtel , Qualcomm, QUWIC, Saudi Telecom, Standard Bank , Standard Chartered, Tata Communications, Vodafone Qatar and ZTE Corporation.
