TNT Express, the world’s leading B2B express delivery company, has appointed Martyn Wright as its new Managing Director for the Gulf, replacing Mark Pell who is now Director of Operations and Security for America, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) in New York.
Wright, an industry veteran having served TNT for nearly two decades, takes up the top position after three years as the company’s Regional Director for Operations in India, Middle East and Africa. He will now spearhead TNT’s GCC-wide expansion and will be responsible for delivering higher levels of customer service across all aspects of express distribution in the Gulf.
“TNT Gulf achieved its revenue growth and profit targets in 2006 and as a result we will invest more in people, infrastructure and new facilities particularly in the UAE and Kuwait,” said Jinendra Sancheti, Regional Vice President – India, Middle East and Africa, TNT Express.
“Martyn will help us continue this growth, increase market share and further expand our ‘Day Definite’ network, which is the only road service of its kind in the region, to Europe and Asia. “
Wright has over 25 years of worldwide international management experience having also worked in the UK, Spain, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Nigeria, New Zealand and Singapore.
“Martyn will also be in charge of expanding TNT’s infrastructure throughout the Gulf which will entail a 10% growth in the workforce by the year end,” added Sancheti.
