Dubai-based X-Calibur International, a global leader in sustainable chemical products, has completed a training seminar for 15 top engineers from Finland, Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
The seminar which covered all technical design aspects associated with sustainable waterproofing, carbon fibre strengthening and anchoring including the use on how to use AnchorCalc, X-Calibur’s bespoke anchor design software, was held at the JW Marriot Hotel in Dubai.
Brian Davies, President and CEO, X-Calibur International said, “The purpose of the training was to teach the engineers not only how to use the software through hands-on demonstrations and interactive presentations, but also how it works in practical terms.“
To emphasise that point, the group were taken on a short field trip to the Burj Dubai development, for which X-Calibur supplied water dispersed environmentally friendly sealers that protect stone and concrete.
“Reducing carbon emissions is a major issue in Scandinavia and building regulations are extremely exacting especially with regard to LEED (Leadership in Energy Efficient Design) standards.” added Davies.
The seminar was held shortly after news that X-Calibur International through its Florida based company had been appointed to help reduce the environmental impact of the new Washington DC headquarters of the US Green Building Council – the body charged with setting green building standards.
