ALBAWABA - According to local Egyptian media, a tourist boat capsized off the shores of Marsa Alam shores, with 31 tourists on board.

SkyNews Arabia reported, citing Governor Hanafi, that emergency teams were able to rescue 28 people, while 17 others remain missing.
Senior local officials reported that in addition to the 31 tourists, there were 14 Egyptian crew members, with initial reports saying that survivors were already rescued.
Governor Major General Amr Hanafi said that promptly raised the state of readiness and coordinated with relevant authorities to address the incident after receiving a report of a missing tourist vessel.
Reports suggest that the vessel has sunk in the Sha'ab Sataya area, north of Marsa Alam, where a helicopter was deployed upon the request of the Naval Base Control Center, which launched a search and rescue operation to the area.
Local authorities, including the Control Center and Operations Room, are monitoring the situation closely. The number of survivors or missing individuals has yet to be determined as the rescue operation continues.
Governor Hanafi stressed that safety is a top priority of all individuals, and said that the media will be alerted in case of any updates regarding the tragic incident.
