Trend Micro, one of the world’s leaders in network antivirus and Internet content security software and services, has awarded premium partner status to Paramount Computer Systems (PCS), a joint venture with Bahrain based conglomerate International Agencies Company Limited (Intercol).
The two companies aim to work closer together in an effort to educate Bahrain’s business community about the constantly changing world of viruses and spyware.
Premchand Kurup, CEO, Paramount Computer Systems, commented: “Trend Micro is one of the Middle East region’s thought leaders in technology security, with a comprehensive portfolio designed to prevent attack from the edge to the core of the network. We have no doubt that as more and more Bahraini companies realize the importance of designing a comprehensive network and content security strategy, a large amount of these companies will deploy Trend Micro solutions.”
From advising on the development of a security policy, through to the delivery of complete end-to-end solutions, PCS works with some of Bahrain’s leading government bodies, energy companies, financial institutions, airlines, telcos and educational establishments on virus prevention, spyware detection and other security threats. Trend Micro hopes to leverage these relationships to claim greater market-share in the competitive technology security market.
Justin Doo, Managing Director, Trend Micro Middle East and Africa, added: “Trend Micro’s high-level partnership with PCS has already led to numerous business opportunities. For example, last year the Central Informatics Organisation (CIO), the body responsible for regulating IT within the Bahrain government, signed a large deal with Trend Micro to protect the country’s e-government network, used by more than eight thousand employees, from virus attack. We expect more good news to follow as a result of the agreement.”
Trend Micro recently released three new anti-spyware solutions which detect and remove evasive spyware and grayware using technology brought to Trend Micro through its acquisition of anti-spyware specialist InterMute. Additionally the company acquired Kelkea, a leading authority on IP filtering and reputation services, to help combat the effect of spam today and evolving threats such as phishing and pharming.
Trend Micro also has a “virus escalation service”, which enables clients to forward infected files to Trend Micro’s network of virus tracking laboratories spread across the globe, and receive rapid feedback on the nature of the threat.
Through its premium partner scheme, Trend Micro forms alliances with best-of-breed technology partners to provide comprehensive antivirus and content security solutions for enterprise customers. These alliances give customers the flexibility to select the best security solution from the industry leader, rather than being dependent on just one vendor who may not have the best solution for every security need.
Doo concluded: “Paramount Computer Systems has become one of the region’s leading authorities and providers of information security solutions, with a reputation for supplying products and services which are cost-effective and business-driven at the same time. Alongside PCS Bahrain, we aim to extend our region-wide mission to educate business leaders about the constantly changing threats aimed at Bahraini enterprises, as well as strategies and solutions to counter these threats.”
