Libya has accused the US and Israeli intelligence services of being behind the August 30 assassination of its ambassador to the Central African Republic.
"Agents from the CIA (US Central Intelligence Agency) and Mossad (Israeli intelligence) were behind the planning and execution of this criminal act," the African Unity ministry said in a statement.
It added that those carrying out the act were trying "to damage the special relations between Libya and the Central African Republic."
It said it planned to investigate to "identify those responsible for the killing and ask that they be judged and punished."
The Libyan ambassador Al-Sanussi Awad Abdullah was shot dead August 30 by a heavily armed commando unit as he was about to leave his residence in Bangui to go to a nearby restaurant. TRIPOLI (AFP)
