ALBAWABA - US President Donald Trump allegedly said via a Truth Social post that Israel has agreed to a peace deal in Gaza to end the war, which has been ongoing since Oct. 7, 2023.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: "Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the 60-Day CEASEFIRE, during which time we will work with all parties to end the War."

"The Qataris and Egyptians, who have worked very hard to help bring Peace, will deliver this final proposal," he maintained.

The conditions of the proposed ceasefire were unveiled by Trump; however, the US president said earlier that Tel Aviv was ready to end the war.

A ceasefire deal was inked before Trump's inauguration in January 2024, but it lasted for a few days before it broke out after Hamas and Israel accused each other of violating agreements on prisoner exchanges.

Local media said that Israel's Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer told US envoy Steve Witkoff that the country has accepted the proposal for a ceasefire and hostage deal and is ready to start close talks with Hamas.
