Tunisia Celebrates the National Women's Day

Tunisia celebrated on Saturday August 13 the National Women's Day. Within the framework of the National Women's Day, several cultural activities were organized including round tables, seminars, conferences and exhibitions focusing on the role of women in the information society. La Presse reports that the National Women's Day aims at promoting the role of women in the society and emphasizing the achievements of women.  It is also the anniversary of the Personal Status Code which was adopted by the Tunisian Parliament to ensure equal rights for women.
