Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer will pay a two-day official visit to Jordan on November 15-16 to discuss bilateral relations and the Middle East crisis, a presidential aide said Friday.

Sezer will go to Amman at the invitation of Jordan's King Abdullah II after attending an Organization of the Islamic Conference summit on November 12-14 in Doha, Tacan Ildem told a news conference here.

King Abdullah paid a visit to Turkey in March during which the two sides pledged to increase bilateral trade, step up military ties and boost defense industry cooperation.

The two countries are also negotiating an accord under which Turkey wants to sell water from the Manavgat River in its southern region to the drought-stricken kingdom.

Jordan is one of the few Arab countries that has not condemned Turkey's close military ties with Israel, and even took part as an observer in joint military exercises between the two allies and the United States – ANKARA (AFP)
