Two militants armed with Kalashnikov rifles were killed and one National Guard was slightly wounded, Monday, in clashes between National Guard units supported by the army and the militants in the delegation of Dkhilet Toujane (governorate of Gabes).

The Interior Ministry said in a statement the "hunting of terrorists" is ongoing.

Earlier today, a shepherd from the mountain locality of Ezohra, in Beni Zelten, delegation of New Matmata (governorate of Gabes), told TAP he was attacked, on Sunday, along with his companion by three individuals as they were herding their cattle.

The aggressors stole the shepherds’ food and gave to one of them some 50 dinars to buy them food. The latter, immediately, informed the security units.

National Guard units combed the locality of Dkhilet Toujane in the village of Braouka where they discovered the presence of militants groups.

Tunisia has been on high-alert after Daesh orchestrated a bus bombing in November. Tunisia borders Libya, which has faced multiple attacks by Daesh in recent months.
