In an 18-hole invitational golf tournament celebrating Cathay Pacific’s 60th Anniversary, held yesterday at the Nad Al Sheba Golf Course, three pairs swung their way to victory. The winning pair will be flown to Hong Kong by Cathay Pacific to play at the Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen.
The winning pair, Jimmy Sangani and Alok Pant, will have a chance to play three different Mission Hills’ Courses. The team will be on a five-day holiday and will fly to Hong Kong on October 23.
Cathay Pacific Country Manager for the UAE and Oman, James Evans expressed his gratitude to the guests for their support for the tournament. “I congratulate the winners of this year’s tournament. It was a successful event and all of the players seemed to thoroughly enjoy their round of Golf. I would like to wish the winners and everyone flying to Hong Kong to play at Mission Hills all the very best and I hope they have a fantastic trip.”
The second pair winners, Moti Jham and Amit Pateria, each took away 45, 000 Asia Miles, while third pair winners Ratinder Jang and Hormaz Muncherjee got each a round trip Business Class ticket to Mumbai.
“I am very excited about playing at Mission Hills. Apart from flying on Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong, this is a wonderful opportunity to improve my swing and experience the golfing facilities at Mission Hills,” commented first prize winner Jimmy Sangani of AM Gulf.
The Winning Ladies Pair of the tournament were C.J. Kim and S.K. Kim of Hyundai Engineering. Three special prizes were also awarded for “Nearest to the Pin”, which went to Phil Lynagh, “Nearest to the Pole”, which went to Paul Marriott and the “Longest Drive”, which went to Adam Moore.
A total of 80 players participated in the tournament, which was part of Cathay Pacific’s 60th Anniversary celebrations.
A Mission Hills Golf Package is also available to UAE golfers in partnership with Cathay Pacific Airways. The package includes a round trip Economy Class airfare between Dubai and Hong Kong, a roundtrip transfer from Hong Kong International Airport to Shenzhen and 4-nights hotel accommodation with daily breakfast at Mission Hills. A chance to see Shenzhen City in a half-day tour is also included in the package, together with a luncheon and dinner while viewing live shows in the city.
In Cathay Pacific’s 60th Anniversary Year, the airline was named “Airline of the Year” by Air Transport World and OAG, the London based global travel and transport information company. The Airline was also voted “Best Airline Based in Asia” and “Best Transpacific Airline” in OAG’s awards.
