Global leader in networked lifestyle solutions, BenQ, has expanded its Middle East digital camera portfolio with the launch of its ultra slim range - T700, X725 and X720.
An industry first, the T700 is the world’s slimmest digital camera with a 3-inch touch-screen and is only 14.9mm thick. The X720 and X725 is only 12.5 mm thick and are the world’s slimmest 7 mega pixel digital cameras on offer.
“With the Middle East and Asia digital imaging market set to top US$10 billion by 2009, we see an increase in demand for hi-tech and design-oriented digital cameras, lenses, flashes, and other accessories,” said Manish Bakshi, General Manager, BenQ Middle East.
“To cater to this growth, we have introduced our new range of digital cameras - the T700, X720 and X725 - not only set new standards in imaging design and technology, but also meet the needs of regional amateur and professional photographers. The three new models initiate the inception of the new X (Xtra-Slim) series. This is in addition to the C (Compact) and E (Elegance) series already available in the market which includes the models C540, C740i, E610, E605 and E720”, he added.
BenQ and PENTAX recently formed a partnership to combine the digital lifestyle leader’s strengths in imaging technology with PENTAX’s optical lens. The new models feature PENTAX len’s SMC (super multi-coating) system that provides transparency above 99.8 per cent and superior image-formation performance.
“Through our partnership with PENTAX we will be able to provide consumers unrivalled imaging solutions,” said Robert Dung, Managing Director of BenQ Middle East. “Going forward, we will continue to forge more partnerships with industry-leading component manufacturers to meet the ever-changing needs of the digital imaging market to provide our customers futuristic products at competitive prices.”
The highlight of BenQ’s latest offering, the T700 features a 1/2.5 inch CCD image sensor and a 7.2 mega pixel resolution. Weighing around 120g (not including battery), the T700 can store upto 18MB data with storage capacity of up to 2GB with an external SD card.
“The T700’s touch-screen capability enables users to activate camera functions by touch or even write memos on the images,” said Bakshi. “Our point-and-shoot T700 model is a smart little camera that will provide photographers a combination of sleek design and easy functionality.”
BenQ’s T700 has a 3x optical and 4x digital zoom and supports ISO 4000 in movie recording and ISO 1200 in photo mode. Boasting a sleek design, its exterior is lined with a stainless steel edge and is available in four colours: Silver, Black, Red and White.
BenQ’s award-winning X720 features a smooth, elegantly-crafted and blade-like design and its Seven-scene mode ensures quick setting adjustments. It supports high light sensitivity of up to ISO 1200 and up to ISO 4000 in recording mode which helps facilitate shooting when capturing fast-moving objects or taking photos in poor lighting conditions.
A more advanced version, the BenQ X725 inherits an identical design as the X720 and features an elegant, stainless-steel body with 29 embedded scene modes. Furthermore, the sleek camera supports high light sensitivity of up to ISO 1600 in static mode and up to ISO 4000 in recording mode.
All three models include a PictBridge function for direct photo printing via a compatible computer. BenQ’s new cameras also feature S.S.F (Super, Shake-Free) and embedded sliding lens systems, and high ISO options.
“The new launch cameras reflect BenQ’s Meeting of Opposites design philosophy and bring together work and play, technology and style, tenacity and smoothness.” added Manish.
“With the holiday season fast-approaching, we are confident our new range of cameras will help photography enthusiasts capture moments and transform them into lifelong memories.”
