Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) recently made a special uniform for 210 health and vocations inspectors and supervisors in different regions of GAM.
Mayor of Amman, Omar Maani, said, during his meeting with the inspectors, that the new brown uniforms will play an effective role in promoting the inspectors' performance, and reflect GAM's keenness to provide a high quality and trustworthy service everywhere in Amman, as well as improving GAM's image in meeting the requirements of quality control.
He pointed out that if the inspectors and supervisors commit to wearing their uniforms, this shall forbid false impersonation during inspection and supervision tours executed by GAM to its 27 regions.
In the presence of the City Manager of Amman, Eng. Ammar Gharaibeh, Maani stressed the importance of practicing the inspection and supervision tasks professionally and properly, which eventually improves the inspectors' communication skills and behavior with the citizens.
The Mayor also commended the role of the inspectors and supervisors in preserving the citizens' health and convenience, and the safety of the surrounding environment. He expressed his satisfaction with the service level rendered by GAM in this field, pointing out that the citizen can sense now the improvement of the service on the ground.
The new uniforms hold GAM's logo, and the job title in blue, for the health inspectors, and in brown for the vocations' supervisors.
The meeting was attended by City Deputy Director for Public Works, Eng. Mustafa Al Louzi, the Executive Director of Inspection and Surveillance, Eng. 'Ezel Deen Shamout, and the Director of the Health and Vocational Control Department at GAM, Dr. Mervet Mheirat.
It is worth noting that the health inspector is normally commissioned to apply the rules of handicrafts, industries, and the prohibition of hazards system by inspecting the institutions related to public health, such as food industry establishments. The vocations supervisor shall apply the vocations law, and the advertising instructions for 90.000 licensed commercial establishments in Amman, thus ensuring that these foundations are not used for purposes contradicting the license terms and conditions.
