ALBAWABA- The UN Palestinian Refugee Agency (UNRWA) is on the brink of halting operations in Gaza within the next 48 hours due to a severe shortage of fuel. 

The agency's fuel depot in Gaza has run dry, impacting vital services such as hospital operations, ambulance services, waste removal, and desalination plants providing drinking water.

UNRWA Director Philippe Lazzarini expressed deep concern, stating that the situation is dire and is expected to worsen significantly. 

The Israeli military's refusal to allow fuel imports into Gaza has been criticized, with accusations of collective punishment against the civilian population, considered illegal under international law. 

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is poised to escalate as critical services face imminent shutdown.
