US airstrikes kill and injure several in Yemen

ALBAWABA - The Houthi-run Ministry of Health announced that five people were killed and 13 wounded in US airstrikes on the Al-Sawari factory in the Matna area of ​​Bani Matar, southwest of Sanaa.

local media detailed that the US aircraft launched raids on Sanaa International Airport and Al-Dailami Air Base, several raids hit Bani Matar District, southwest of Sanaa. Moreover, the US jets carried out attacks on Bani Hashish District, east of Sanaa. 

The airstrikes also targeted Al-Suwaiqi Camp in Khab wa Al-Sha'af District in Al-Jawf Governorate, northern Yemen, the Mas Camp in Madghal District, and other sites in Raghwan District in Marib Governorate, northeastern Yemen.

For its part, the Houthi group announced on Sunday that it had shot down a US drone in the airspace of Hajjah Governorate, northwestern Yemen. 

A statement by Houthi military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said: "The Yemeni armed forces shot down a hostile US MQ-9 drone while it was carrying out hostile missions in the airspace of Hajjah Governorate." 

He added: "The plane was shot down with a locally manufactured surface-to-air missile. This is the fourth downing in two weeks and the 19th during the battle of the promised conquest and the holy jihad."
