ALBAWABA - The US Embassy in Tripoli denied in a post on X, press reports of an American plan to resettle one million Gazans in Libya.

The US Embassy in Libya revealed the truth about the news report by saying, "The report about alleged plans to transfer Gaza residents to Libya is false."

The embassy's denial came after NBC News reported on Friday that the Trump administration was working on a plan to permanently transfer approximately one million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Libya.

NBC News added, "the plan is under consideration and the administration has discussed it with the Libyan leadership," without specifying which authorities in Libya—the Government of National Unity in Tripoli or the House of Representatives government in Benghazi—were involved.

The American newspaper's report further mentioned that "in exchange for resettling the Palestinians, the US administration would likely release billions of dollars in Libyan funds that the United States has frozen for more than a decade" in exchange for resettling the Palestinians in Libya.

Although the Libyan governments have not commented on the American channel's report, they have previously rejected the matter when commenting on media reports on the matter. Previously, the Government of National Unity denounced information published by the American Thinker platform in early March regarding Libya's readiness to receive a number of Palestinian refugees, confirming that these claims were "completely fabricated."

The Libyan government affirmed its categorical rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from their lands for any reason.
