The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) has decided to award a grant to the Tangier Mediterranean Special Agency (TMSA). The $374,000 grant will fund technical assistance to TMSA related to the Tangier-Mediterranean (Tangier-Med) Project in the areas of International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), and Container Security Initiative (CSI) compliance.
U.S. Ambassador to Morocco Thomas T. Riley and President du Directoire Säid Elhadi signed a grant agreement on behalf of the U.S. government and TMSA, respectively, to officially confer the award.
The government of Morocco considers the Tangier-Med Project to be part of its broader efforts to lead the country towards free trade, particularly under the country’s FTA with the United States and European Union.
