U.S. Robotics, the world leader in internet connectivity and networking, has recently appointed Sumit Kumar as the new Region Manager, Middle East and North Africa. Kumar will be responsible for product sales and marketing in Middle East and North Africa reporting to Peter Blampied, Director Sales & Operations, EMEA.
As Region Manager for U.S. Robotics Middle East, Kumar is a seasoned channel veteran who brings with him years of distribution experience as well as valuable relationships with the reseller and distribution channels. Kumar who is an MBA holder with an engineering background in power electronics, was previously Region Product Manager at Aptec Gulf.
“We are very pleased to have Sumit officially join our team. As a U.S. Robotics loyalist, Kumar has always been a high performer and while at Aptec Gulf was awarded best product manager for U.S. Robotics for four years in a row. He is proof of the success of our products and is a great example for distributors and resellers,” said Peter Blampied.
Commenting on his appointment with U.S. Robotics, Sumit said, “Having joined at a very important time for the Middle East IT industry, I am very eager to get moving on the plans and ideas we have here at U.S. Robotics. GITEX Dubai 2005 is just around the corner and we will be launching products that are going to revolutionize the Wi-Fi market. We also plan to focus on new opportunities for our reseller and distributor network with extra emphasis on the Levant region and Egypt. These distribution channels are very important to U.S. Robotics ensuring that products reach customers in time.”
After the untimely loss of Yusuf Syed, Region Manager U.S. Robotics Middle East, the appointment of Sumit Kumar, a known and trusted face among Middle East and African resellers is set to renew confidence with resellers and channels. With a focused management style, Sumit is a ‘hands on’ boss and believes in getting things done. “I am already very comfortable with my team and channel partners, and see no harm in rolling up my sleeves and joining them in the task at hand. They simply have to turn to me and I will be there,” concluded Sumit.
