A US soldier deployed for training in Kuwait died Sunday while exercising in the physical fitness center at a camp for American troops, the US embassy said.
The death at Camp Doha is being investigated under standard US army procedures, the embassy said in a statement, withholding the soldier's name pending notification of family members.
The United States, which has 4,500 soldiers in Kuwait, usually rotates a troop battalion through the Gulf Arab emirate.
Five American soldiers and a New Zealander were killed last month when a US Navy F/A-18 plane dropped bombs near their position during a live-fire exercise in the Kuwaiti desert -- KUWAIT CITY (AFP)
