Former Ajax Amsterdam and Barcelona coach Louis van Gaal will be named later Friday as coach to Holland, the Dutch media reported.

The Dutch Football Federation (KNVB) refused to confirm the reports to AFP but confirmed that a press conference had been called at their Zeist headquarters at midday.

The KNVB spokesperson added: "(Frank) Rijkaard's successor will be there."

The press reports in Telegraaf and Algemeen Dagblad newspapers say that van Gaal has been offered a two-year deal until the end of the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea.
