Venezuelan Oil Minister Ali Rodriguez will take over as OPEC's new secretary general from January next year, Qatar's oil minister said Sunday.
Rodriguez, currently the OPEC president would take over from secretary general Rilwanu Lukman on January 1, said Qatar oil minister Abdullah al-Attiyah, speaking to journalists.
Lukman retires at the end of the year after five years at the helm of the 11-nation Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) – VIENNA (AFP)
