ALBAWABA- Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, has stirred controversy with his recent remarks, declaring, "We are not another star on the American flag, and Washington is our best friend, but we will do what is best for Tel Aviv."
Gvir's comments come on the heels of a statement from the US State Department rejecting both Gvir's and the Minister of Finance's statements regarding the resettlement of Palestinians outside Gaza.
The US Department of Department emphasized that the Israeli government has assured them that such statements do not reflect official policy and must cease immediately.
This development follows closely after Prime Minister Netanyahu announced a proposed plan for voluntary migration from Gaza.
Critics view this move as indicative of the Israeli government's approach toward ethnic cleansing, raising concerns about the displacement of the 2.2 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
