Two Palestinians were injured during a brief Israeli incursion into the West Bank city of Nablus, medical and security sources said Saturday.
The two were wounded when soldiers in jeeps moved into the city centre and opened fire, before withdrawing soon afterwards.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Friday denounced Israeli army operations in the West Bank and Gaza, saying they were "worsening" the conflict there.
On Saturday, PA Presidency Spokesman, Nabil Abu Rdeina condemned the continued Israeli aggression on Nablus. In a statement, Abu Rdeina described the Israeli invasion into the city for the third time in less than a week as a collective punishment against the Palestinian people and his institutions.
"The Israeli aggression against Nablus city is as a part of an open war and as a withdrawal of an agreement of state of calm as well as a deliberate destruction of the peace process."
Abu Rdeina called on the Israeli government to immediately stop the ongoing aggression against Nablus and halt the policies of assassinations, arrests and collective punishment.
