Wharton delegation visits Jebel Alo Port

A delegation representing the Lauder Institute from Wharton University of Pennsylvania, visited DP World, UAE Region with the aim of studying the global port operator’s business model, management strategy, internal systems and the competencies that drive its network of 50 terminals.

The visitors were welcomed and shown around Jebel Ali Port by Rashid Ali Al Qahtani, Chief Operating Officer, DP World, UAE region, and other senior officials.

In his detailed presentation about DP World, Al Qahtani spoke about the development of the company, its strategic master plan, relationship with Dubai Government, and DP World’s role as one of key drivers of Dubai’s economy. He also spoke about the role played by the Dubai Trade online portal, interface with Dubai Customs and the new Command & Control system that makes Jebel Ali one of the most modern ports in the region.
