Wild Wadi Water Park, part of Dubai-based Jumeirah Hospitality and Liesure, celebrated its sixth birthday in style last week and gave away a fantastic family holiday in a prize draw that concluded the day’s celebrations. The winner was presented with a prize pack, including an exotic trip to Mauritius staying at the Sands Resort for four people for seven nights.

Wild Wadi’s sixth birthday celebrations were unforgettable for everyone, with hundreds of Wild Wadi goodies given away to lucky visitors, in conjunction with Dubai 92 FM, who broadcast live from the park all day.

It was a particularly memorable day for the luck winner, Mr. Hani Mostafa from Yemen, residing in Dubai. Mr. Mostafa was congratulated by the Wild Wadi management and he will fly with his wife and two children aged 5 years and 2 years, to Mauritius, where they will stay at The Sands Resort that boasts views across the lagoon and the bay of Tamrin, with the majestic ‘Le Morne’ mountain in the distance.

Chris Perry, Wild Wadi Water Park Manager, who announced the raffle draw winner said: “We are delighted that Wild Wadi is celebrating its sixth birthday and we are pleased to see so many people come to join in our celebrations. We are sure that Mr. Mostafa and his family will have a great holiday and we look forward to hearing all about it on their next visit to Wild Wadi!”

Mr. Mostafa commented: “This is such an exciting day for us. I took my family to Wild Wadi for a day of enjoyment over the weekend, when I got the news that I was the lucky winner of the celebration’s raffle draw. Now I can treat my family to a luxury week’s holiday, thanks to Wild Wadi and The Sands Resort.”

In September 1999, the concept of Wild Wadi was turned into reality as it opened as the first themed water park in Dubai; a totally unique creation for this part of the world.  Wild Wadi offers a wide range of pulsating rides that are inter-connected, allowing thrill seekers of all ages to experience one adrenaline rush after another without ever leaving the water.

What's more, the vast majority of the rides at Wild Wadi are a first for this region. These include the Jumeirah Sceirah, the tallest and fastest slide outside the United States; the aptly titled Tunnel of Doom, which takes you on a spine-tingling underground journey of twists and turns; the Summit Surge, which uses high-powered water jets to propel up to four people uphill; and the Wipeout FlowRider where the adventurous can surf a wave nearly three metres high.
Note to Editors:
Jumeirah properties are regarded as among the most luxurious and innovative in the world and have won numerous international travel and tourism awards. The Dubai based luxury hospitality group encompasses the world renowned Burj Al Arab, the world’s most luxurious hotel, the multi-award winning Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Jumeirah Beach Club Resort and Spa, Madinat Jumeirah and Jumeirah Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa.

The group’s activities are however, not restricted to hotel and resort management. The Jumeirah portfolio also includes Wild Wadi, regarded as one of the premier water parks outside of North America and The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management, the region’s only third level academic institution specializing in the hospitality and tourism sectors.

Jumeirah has also expanded internationally and manages the Jumeirah Carlton Tower and Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel in London’s Belgravia.

Building on this success, Jumeirah has become a member of Dubai Holding, a collection of leading Dubai based businesses and projects, in a step that aims to initiate a new phase of growth and development for the group.
