ALBAWABA - A number of world leaders released statements denouncing the brutal Israeli attack on Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza, which killed approximately 1,000 and injured hundreds.

France

French President Emmanuel Macron took to his account on X, formerly known as Twitter, to condemn the atrocious Israeli attack on civilians who were taking shelter in Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza.

"France condemns the attack on the Al-Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza, which made so many Palestinian victims".

Jordan

The Jordanian foreign ministry released a statement saying that Israel bears "responsibility for this grave incident,".

"The Ministry’s official spokesman, Ambassador Dr. Sufyan Al-Qudah expressed the Kingdom’s strong rejection and condemnation of this act, which is inconsistent with all human and moral values, and with the rules of international humanitarian law," the statement reads.

Qatar

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted a statement on its official X account, strongly condemning the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital tragedy.

"The State of Qatar condemns in the strongest terms the Israeli occupation's bombing of Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza, and considers it a brutal massacre, a heinous crime against defenseless civilians,"

United Nations

The UN human rights chief Volker Turk called the hospital strike totally unacceptable, insisting that the perpetrators must be held to account.

"Words fail me. Tonight, hundreds of people were killed -- horrifically -- in a massive strike at Al Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City, including patients, healthcare workers, and families that had been seeking refuge in and around the hospital," Turk said in his statement.

African Union

Moussa Faki Mahamat, The African Union chief, accused Israel of a "war crime" following the deadly strike.

"There are no words to fully express our condemnation of Israel's bombing of a Gaza hospital today, killing hundreds of people," Faki said on X, formerly Twitter, calling for the international community to act.
