Dortmund and German international defender Christian Worns is almost certain to pull out of the Euro 2000 finals after injuring his right knee, coach Erich Ribbeck said Monday.
"Christian called me. There is a 99.9 percent chance that he won't be there," said Ribbeck.
The defender was injured in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Schalke, and although the injury has not yet been officially confirmed as ruptured ligaments, he is likely to be out for four to six weeks.
"Of course, it's hard. We were counting on him as being part of the team. But, thank goodness, we have other options in defense," said Ribbeck.
