Z Zegna, the younger and more adventurous line of Ermenegildo Zegna, the men’s luxury fashion brand known for its fine tailoring and innovative use of the most exquisite fabrics, presents the modern urban uniform of the metropolitan man, with fluid forms and fine luxurious fabrics this winter.

The constructivism movement, led by the photographs of Russian born Alexander Rodchenko, is the inspiration of the season; showcasing fashion as a movement of self expression, with structure and substance.
Constructed and engineered for the new generation of modern workers, the latest Z Zegna collection builds on modern design, emphasizing contrasted proportions, textures and the deconstruction of core shapes. An industrial approach is prevalent with geometric abstractions and three dimensional designs outlined in graphic cuts. Innovative yet luxurious fabrics and rich old world craftsmanship align with the modern image of Ermenegildo Zegna’s collections.

ROMANTIC CONSTRUCTIVISM
Tailoring liberates the modern workers wardrobe with animated contrasts in both form and proportion. A new romantic elegance is delivered with sophisticated ease, blending constructivism with poetic emotion. Jackets take on a utilitarian shorter form with metallic hook fastenings, workers pockets and deconstructed raglan shoulders. Trousers are revived with a new form, focused on a voluminous centre and tapered base, worn with corresponding shirts and ties. Slender double-breasted tailoring, in high break cuts with uniform collars are in blends of ‘felted cashmere’ and ‘alpaca cashmere’ exclusive to Zegna.

INDUSTRIAL DESIGN
Z Zegna fuses avant-garde design with couture sportswear, skilfully combining aesthetics with function. A contemporary blueprint for winter dressing is created with urban industrial designs in uber luxurious fabrics, paired with divergent textures and shapes. Outerwear is engineered in quadratic shapes with graphic pocket panels, futuristic cuff details and contrast textured quilts; in ‘cotton canvas sail cloth’ or shearling lined ‘baby calf patina’ lavishing a tactile delight. Knitwear is in multi tone ‘chine wool and cashmere’ blends, or in pure wool geometric patchwork, embodying the constructivism genre. While workers suits in ‘pure cashmere jersey’ give a further ironic sumptuous touch to industrial design.

RUSSIAN NIGHTS
Dramatic eveningwear, conjures old world images of opulence and grandeur. An elongated tailoring silhouette updates ‘silk velvet’ smoking jackets, with sharpened satin shawl lapels. Double-breasted tailoring in ‘chintz mohair’ with tapered button panelling and a short slender silhouette, gives a sophisticated allure. Night time regalia emancipates the Russian dancing spirit with ‘shearling mountain goat’ Cossack overcoats creating a flow of movement.

ACCESSORIES
Utility holdalls and body satchels in ‘felted cashmere’ with leather panelling are paired with work wear lace ups and shearling lined leather gloves, recreating the work wardrobe. Industrial hats with a treated wet effect, pure silk cravats and shearling work boots compound function with refined design, for the Z Zegna modern workers.

The new Z Zegna collection is available in Ermenegildo Zegna store in Mall of the Emirates, Emirates Towers Boulevard, and Harvey Nichols store in Dubai. In Abu Dhabi it is available in Rodeo Drive store on Khalifa Street and Marina Mall.

About Ermenegildo Zegna
Ermenegildo Zegna goes back to the second half of the 19th century when Angelo Zegna a watchmaker by trade, decided to open a wool mill. Of his ten children it was the last, Ermenegildo born in 1892, who took over what was to become one of the best known and most dynamic family businesses in Italy. In the 1960s, the founder’s sons - Angelo and Aldo - gradually took over from their father the management of Ermenegildo Zegna e Figli. It was the two of them who carried out the vertical integration of the company, the transition from exclusive production of fabrics to tailoring of high quality suits for men and internationalisation of production. Growth of the group has been made possible through diversification of its offerings, which now ranges from clothing to accessories, and strategies which have enabled the Ermenegildo Zegna brand to grow successfully throughout the world. Currently it presents Ermenegildo Zegna Collection (with Couture, Sartoria and Upper Casual lines under it), Made-to-Measure, Z Zegna, Zegna Sport and Intimo along with Zegna Accessories. These collections are exclusively produced and distributed through 501 mono-brand stores, of which 198 are directly operated by the group. Zegna group’s philosophy is based on three principles: long-term objectives, family ownership to ensure continuity and a sound ethical commitment enshrined in a rigorous corporate governance system. The group’s organisation and the corporate governance that underpins it adopt international best practice in all relevant fields. All this has been made possible by the long-standing personal commitment of the Zegna family.
