Zurich Insurance Company appoints Peter Englund as Underwriting Manager

Zurich Insurance Company Ltd (“ZIC”) is pleased to announce that Peter Englund has been appointed Underwriting Manager - Professional Indemnity, Global Corporate Insurance Middle East (“GCiME”), with immediate effect.  Peter will be based in Dubai and will report to Alfredo Alonso, Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) Middle East.


In his new role Peter will focus on developing ZIC’s offerings in the Commercial Professional Indemnity area to professionals in the region, specifically architects, engineers, software information technology consultants, lawyers, accountants and other service providers.

Peter joined Zurich in 2007, working within the Nordic Financial Lines operations. He was responsible for the Professional Indemnity portfolio of Architects, Engineers, Construction and Information Technology companies. Peter grew a profitable book of business and led efforts to develop his lines of business in Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden. 


Prior to being with Zurich, Peter was an Associate with a Swedish Investment Advisory Firm - Actagon AB - helping clients to develop risk management platforms on markets in Russia and the Ukraine. He holds an MSc from the Royal Institute of Technology and a BSc in Finance from the Stockholm School of Business.
