ALBAWABA - On Sunday morning, a Jordanian truck driver opened fire killing three Israeli security forces on the Allenby Bridge border crossing between the occupied West Bank and Jordan.

Magen David Adom (MDA) revealed on Sunday that three people were severely injured before they were announced dead minutes later.

In an initial statement, MDS said: "At 09:55 a report was received at MDA's 101 hotline in the Jerusalem area about 2 gunshot wounds near the Allenby border terminal. MDA medics and paramedics are providing medical treatment to 2 injured people in a serious condition."

The Israeli army announced that the shooter was identified as a Jordanian truck driver who entered from the border and opened fire killing three Israeli security men, before he was killed.

Jordan's Ministry of Interior announced, on Sunday, that an investigation was launched into the shooting incident that took place on the other side of the King Hussein Bridge between Jordan and the West Bank.

Al-Arabiya reported citing a Jordanian source who confirmed that the truck driver was identified as Maher Al Jazi, 39 years old. 

Israeli Kann News also posted a picture of the passport of Maher Al Jazi on X (formerly Twitter) showing his full name, birth date and place of birth. According to the photo, the man is from Udhruh town in Ma'an governorate.
