ALBAWABA - Israel posted on its Arabic account on X (formerly Twitter) warning Hamas leaders that if the war continues they will end up facing the fate of the late ex-Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.

The former Iraqi president was captured by the US military hiding in a small "spider hole" months after the US invasion of Iraq in 2003.

Saddam Hussein was convicted of crimes against humanity; including willful killing, illegal imprisonment, deportation, and torture by Iraqi Special Tribunal. He was sentenced to death by hanging.

Meanwhile, Israel's Arabic account shared a photo showing the moment US military forces captured Saddam Hussein and wrote a warning to Hamas leaders.

It wrote: "Hamas leaders, learn from the end of Saddam and have mercy on your Gazan people."

It continues: "Today marks 20 years since the arrest of Iraqi tyrant Saddam Hussein while he was hiding in a hole in the ground like a mouse." "The fate of this tyrant is an example to those who consider, especially to the leaders of Hamas."

Israel Arabic also called on Hamas leaders to surrender and hand over their weapons after it accused them of committing "crimes" against Palestinians and Israelis.
