ALBAWABA - Following reports on social media that he had been slain, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu broadcast a video on Sunday.

Speaking to the person filming him, Netanyahu addressed the rumors head-on in the video, making light of the rumors spreading online that he had passed away. In response to allegations that the tape was not legitimate, he lifted his hand during the conversation and asked the cameraman if he wanted to count his fingers.

On social media sites like Facebook and X, the suspicions spread, with some people claiming that artificial intelligence was used to create the movie. Users used altered screenshots that seemed to show Netanyahu with six fingers as proof that the video had been altered.

Netanyahu used the chance to speak briefly about the persisting tensions in the region despite the rumors. He asserted that Israel is doing things that are not yet publicly known but that they are seriously harming Lebanon and Iran.

The Israeli leader seems to refute the claims while reiterating Israel's continuous military operations in the video, which is released amid heightened regional tension and an increase in false information on the internet.
