Pauls Valley High School Principal Kirk Moore tackled 20-year-old Victor Hawkins and successfully disarmed him. According to NBC News, Investigators said that Hawkins wanted to carry out a "Columbine-style attack" on his school, in reference to the 1999 high school shooting in Colorado.

The investigators added that the 20-year-old, who was armed with two semiautomatic handguns, walked into the school's lobby, demanded that everyone hit the ground, and attempted to shoot two students. Both students pleaded mercy and were allowed to leave with the other kids.

Local reports revealed that Hawkins allegedly took the two firearms from his father without permission and wanted to use them to kill students, faculty members, including Moore, then himself.

Moore then tackled and disarmed Hawkins, which resulted in him being hospitalized after he was shot in the leg. Moore issued a statement on Friday expressing his gratitude for "an outpouring of love and support," adding that he's "healthy and recovering," with hopes of returning to work soon.

On the contrary, Hawkins is currently detained in jail on a a $1 million bond.
