ALBAWABA - New videos flooding social media captured the moment local protestors stormed the US Consulate in Karachi, Pakistan, following the assassination of the Iranian Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

The protestors stormed the consulate with sticks and stones in an attempt to vandalize its premises. Videos of the incident showed an attempt to break the consulate's windows, while other photos captured the protestors reportedly trying to set the building's guard house on fire.

According to Dunya News, Pakistani police were deployed to the US consulate, and were prompted to use tear gas and fire warning shots against the protestors in question.

Authorities closed off roads leading to the consulate and urged nearby residents to stay away from the building for safety reasons until protests are managed and order is maintained.

Simultaneously, massive crowds took to Iran's streets in Isfahan to mourn the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who was recently assassinated by Israeli attacks after heightened tensions between the US, Israel, and Iran.

Reuters reported earlier yesterday, citing the Israeli Defense Ministry, that Israel launched a preemptive attack on Iran. In response to the attacks, sirens were heard across Israel.

According to Iran International, thousands of members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have been killed or injured. In response to the Israeli strikes, US bases in Bahrain, Qatar, and the UAE were hit with Iranian strikes.
