ALBAWABA - An alleged video of the leader of Hamas, Yahya Sinwar, walking through a tunnel with his family members was posted by the Israeli armed forces on X (formerly Twitter).

The Israeli Army posted the alleged video of Sinwar on X and captioned it: "Spotted: Yahya Sinwar running away and hiding in his underground terrorist tunnel network as Gazan civilians suffer above ground under the rule of Hamas terrorism."

"There is no tunnel deep enough for him to hide in."

According to the army, the tunnel, in which Yahya Sinwar was allegedly walking, is believed to be under Khan Younis.

Israeli army spokesperson Daniel Hagari explained that the footage had been captured on a Hamas CCTV camera on Oct. 10, three days after Hamas' Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel, and that the military obtained it in recent days.

Hagari said in a speech: "This evening we are releasing footage of the 'mass murderer' and the mastermind behind the Hamas 'massacre' of October 7, Yahya Sinwar."

He added that this video is not the only video the Israeli army obtained since October 7.

Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel

Hamas military group announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel which is the biggest offensive in decades.

Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip, captured military bases and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel and others paragliding into occupation territory.

In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Ministry of Health reported that 28,473 Palestinians have been killed and dozens of thousands of others were injured in Israeli aggression on Gaza since Oct. 7.
