Leading German trade fair and conference organiser, Epoc Messe Frankfurt, is set to debut two new trade and networking events in Dubai, designed to capitalise on the potential offered by the Middle East market.

Paperworld Middle East is a trade exhibition for the world of office supplies and paper products and Playworld Middle East is a trade exhibition for toys, games and children’s lifestyle products.  The two events are co-located and will run this week from tomorrow, Monday, March 7th to Wednesday, March, 9th at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Both trade exhibitions are tailored to cater to these fast growing market segments.

“Representing the world of office and paper products, Paperworld Middle East is a regional adaptation of the popular Paperworld Frankfurt – a landmark event for the paper products industry,” said Ahmed Pauwels, Chief Executive Officer of Epoc Messe Frankfurt. “While Playworld Middle East is a trade and networking event for the world of kids, including toys, games and children’s lifestyle products.”

“We have learnt that there is great potential here in these emerging markets for both the paper products industry and manufacturers and suppliers of children’s products.  As a result we are very excited about, and have high expectations for next week’s launch events,” Pauwels stated.

“With our years of experience of close association with the market and taking into account the feedback received from our partners, we expect both these events to be well received by their respective industry sectors,” he added.

Having the shows co-located means the organiser has been able to build on the synergies of the two events which have clear benefits for both visitors and exhibitors. The co-location gives trade visitors ease of access to the verticals they are interested in, bringing close to 250 exhibitors within similar industries together under one roof.

Middle East markets are of key significance in the worldwide paper industry. Recent research reveals that the GCC market for paper products is worth around US$700 million, with the UAE accounting for around US$400 million and Saudi Arabia another US$220 million. By expanding to the Middle East, Paperworld seeks to enable its partners to better access and interact with this growing market.

Paperworld’s product portfolio includes office supplies; school articles; gift articles; greeting cards & calendars; wrapping; office paper & films; and household paper products.

Additionally, the toy industry in the region mirrors the growth trend exhibited worldwide. The UAE market is particularly exciting for toy manufacturers, retailers and suppliers as the average consumer spends approximately US $30 per head more than their counterparts elsewhere.

Playworld Middle East will feature the latest trends and developments in toys and games; baby, infant & pre-school products; bicycles & sports equipment; models & electronics; and dolls, plush toys, dolls’ clothing, accessories & play houses as well as many other children’s lifestyle products.
